At Tampa Apartments, we understand the importance of education in today's
society. Parents want nothing more than to place their children in schools where
they know their children will be in good hands. Especially when moving to a new
area, parents want to make sure that there are appropriate schools nearby.
Researching specific needs and wants for their children's education is the first
step that any moving parent should take. A simple phone call to the school's
district will answer most of your questions, but not all. Some cases may require
a visit to a counselor who is more than willing to help a parent find the right
education and school for their kids. The internet is also a very useful source
for information regarding ANYTHING related to your child's education. Here is a
link to the School District of Hillsborough County website.
The belief is that with the alignment and focus of resources and services to address a manageable number of goals, the district will accelerate the academic gains for all students. These goals reflect high expectations, yet they are also reasonable. Establishing 5% as a minimum increase will push the district and schools to identify critical success factors and formulate aggressive tactical plans. Therefore, if we strive for a 5% increase and achieve 3.5%, we will have accomplished more than if we set and achieve a lower percent of increase. The school improvement process has been streamlined. There is a much stronger reliance on data-driven decision making. School Advisory Councils have been trained extensively this summer to identify goals to specifically address reading achievement, along with other appropriate goals as reflected by school data. District staff members have been part of this training as well, so that support for schools will be meaningful and supportive. Each school faculty and staff member will spend the day reviewing the school's achievement data for the prior year, along with data from other sources such as NCLB information, discipline referrals, attendance rates, and Whole School Effectiveness surveys. This comprehensive school profile then will be used to develop the appropriate goals for the School Improvement Plan. An important part of this process is the Individual Professional Development Plan that each teacher will write to address his/her needs as reflected by student achievement data. These individual plans then will be used as a basis for the design of the School Professional Development Plan. Through the alignment of the district's Strategic Plan, individual School Improvement Plans, Individual Professional Development Plans, and School Professional Development Plans, all entities in the district--School Board members, district staff, and school-based personnel--should be able to articulate the district's vision, mission, and values. The focus is the same--increasing student achievement! ![]() The percentage of students scoring at Level 3 or higher on FCAT reading will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points. ![]() The percentage of students scoring at Level 3 or higher on FCAT mathematics will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points. ![]() Student performance on FCAT science will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points.
